Statewide Nonprofit Disability Organizations

Disability Rights Florida is a nonprofit organization that provides legal advocacy and rights protection for adults and children with a wide range of disabilities.
Working with local, state, and national partners, The Arc of Florida advocates for local chapters, public policies, and high quality supports for people with developmental and other disabilities to be fully included in all aspects of their community.

ABLE United’s mission is to encourage and assist the saving of private funds to help persons with disabilities cover costs that support their health, independence and quality of life.
The Administration for Community Living was created around the fundamental principle that older adults and people of all ages with disabilities should be able to live where they choose, with the people they choose, and with the ability to participate fully in their communities.
The Florida Statewide Independent Living Council (FILC) was established in 1999 by amendments to the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and is a statutory requirement under Federal laws. FILC Members are appointed by the governor and conduct public forums to gather information on systemic barriers from Floridians with disabilities. FILC works closely with the 15 Centers for Independent Living to create a three-year State Plan for Independent Living.

CareerSource Florida is the statewide workforce policy and investment board. Our partners include the Department of Economic Opportunity, 24 local workforce development boards and 100 career centers throughout Florida.
